Turkey Day, Black Friday and such......

We, as a group, have survived Thanksgiving!



It was a little bittersweet as this was Betty's (my Mom) favourite holiday. And this one was the first without her. Very odd feeling..........



OK, so Moira had a surprise showing of the Mansion (though it was off the market) and the agent called to say "expect an offer" so we, of course, ran right out and looked at three houses that we would love to buy. We are going to rescue the U.S. Economy by relentlessly buying STUFF, including houses.





And that will be when pigs floss.



Really nice day here in Atlantic City today, but yesterday was HORRIBLE. The Diva flew back to Boston yesterday and that is a tale worth an additional post. Suffice to say that she got stranded at JFK, I scrambled to get her on an early AM flight, and a ride to LaGuardia, and a room until 2 AM. I almost got in the car and drove up there..............she called today to ask if I remembered the scene from "Almost Famous" where the band vows to never fly again; she is in that state of mind right now.



All for now......

WE WON!!! WE WON!!!! (and other hijinks)

WE WON!!! Evergreen O-40 has gone 10-0-1 to win the league outright!!!! We beat Manheim Kickers 7-1 Sunday to ascend to the highest position in the table.......and retired to the Evergreen Heimatbund for boots of Spaaten....we kicked the keg!!! 12 boots full....

Playing soccer is a passion and a bunch of us have been playing together for more than 15 years; some for more than 25 years. And we are good. What makes it even better is the camaraderie that has developed on my team--first Berks United and now Evergreen.........

So anyway, Evergreen Heimatbund sponsors us and lets us use their fields. So we repay the favor by spending obscene amounts of money at the club bar after games.

And das boot----a glass boot (a gallon?) and the rules are simple: drink from the boot....if you finish the boot, the guy who drank before you buys. There is a luck ritual before you drink (elbow-fist-slap-slap) and a ritual after you drink (slap-slap-fist elbow) that there is a penalty for if you mess it up. We forget what it is.

Note the toe of das boot is turned up to allow the air out of the toe. I finished everything you see, and made Foos pay for ther next one.......

It helps if you can get a designated driver.

Team in action!

The Diva comes hoem from Boston tomorrow and I need to pick her up at the airport. I simply cannot wait to see her!!She will have dinner at Moira's with me, then I willd rive her up to her Mom's, where she will spend the rest of break. I do hope to get to see her more this weekend.......
